Enter a period of time for which you want to know the number of weekdays that occur. Each day is counted individually and the total number of days is counted. The first and last day of the set period are included, not just the days in between.
Weekdays calculation: Mondays: 52 Tuesdays: 52 Wednesdays: 52 Thursdays: 52 Fridays: 53 Saturdays: 53 Sundays: 52 Working days: 261 Days in total: 366 |
Public holidays are not taken into account when calculating the number of working days, as the public holiday regulations are handled very differently in different countries and federal states. All days except Saturday and Sunday are therefore considered working days.
In a complete year, there are 52 or 53 days of each weekday. To get an approximate estimate of how many specific days fit into a period of several days, you can divide the number of days by seven and then round. The length of the period in days has little influence on the accuracy of the result; it is always either correct or is one day too many or too few. But if you want to know the really exact value, you have to go into the depths of the calendar and count, or use a calculator like this one that does the counting for you.
If the number of days is divisible by seven without a remainder, then each weekday occurs equally often and the number of working days is 5/7 times the total number of days. If the number of days is not divisible by seven without a remainder, then some days occur one more often than others. The remainder of this division indicates how many days are one more frequent. For example, if the period is 60 days, the calculation is 60 divided by 7, the result is 8 remainder 4. In this case, four days occur nine times, three days occur eight times. For this calculation method, see Euclidean division. The days with the same amount all follow one another directly, whereby Sunday is of course followed by Monday.
